Darby Affeldt, DVM, RICP®, is an Independent Financial Advisor with North Star Resource Group. Spanning over two decades, Darby's previous business/practice ownership inspired her to become a financial advisor specializing in business owners and retirement income planning. Darby has furthered her education to earn the RICP® designation. This designation provides her with an understanding of how to effectively guide a client through the transition from their accumulation stage during their working years to their decumulation stag in retirement. The RICP® knowledge base allows her to provide value by developing solid strategies to establish sustainable income for a client's retirement years.
Darby helps to protect and build wealth by offering a comprehensive and educational approach. Her areas of focus include wealth management, financial planning, investments and insurance strategies to help her clients to reach their personal and business goals. She coauthored Real Life Financial Planning for Veterinarians, teaches financial education at two veterinary schools, teaches a 6-hour retirement planning course at community colleges, writes for multiple industry publications, and is a frequent speaker at national veterinary conferences.

John Aronson
John hails from the Washington, DC area and moved to Seattle in 2008. He completed his undergraduate degree in history at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. After a long, successful career in photography, John decided to change careers once he moved to the Pacific Northwest.
John was drawn to financial planning after starting his family in 2002. He realized the importance of having a comprehensive financial plan, particularly when there are dependents involved. John passed the CFP® exam in 2011 and began his career at MassMutual. Currently, his practice focuses on retirement planning for individuals and business owners. He holds his FINRA Series 7 and 66 registrations as well as insurance licenses in a number of states.
Because of the emphasis placed on financial planning, John chose to partner with Securian to continue to grow his practice.
