NATIONAL CONVENTION BANQUET

The Modern Woodmen National Convention Banquet will be held at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum located on the National Mall in the heart of Washington, D.C. This is a once in a lifetime experience as the museum will be exclusive for registered Modern Woodmen attendees, spouses, guests, and children. There is no cost to attend.

The Air and Space Museum has hundreds of artifacts on display. Some of the highlights include:

The Wright Brothers 1903 Flyer.
Spirit of St. Louis – Charles Lindbergh's solo flight from New York to Paris.
Apollo 11 Lunar Module – Landed the first men on the moon.
Lunar rock samples where visitors can touch the rocks.

In addition to the exhibits, the museum offers:

IMAX Theater
Flight Simulators
Planetarium

During the event, Modern Woodmen will sponsor a trivia contest. Trivia cards will be presented on the motor coach ride to the museum. If you find the answers to the questions and have the museum attendant validate your answers, you will be able to enter your trivia card into a drawing for valuable prizes.

The flow of the evening will be as follows:

6:15pm – 7:00pm	Buses will depart from the Gaylord National Resort, Woodrow Wilson bus loop. All attendees must wear their name badge to board the motor coach and during the event.

Dinner	Dinner will be served throughout the night and replenished as needed. There will be food stations on each of the three floors of the museum as well as seating. You may choose to eat right away or be one of the first to visit the flight simulator or IMAX theater and dine later. The flight simulator and IMAX theater do stimulate your motion senses, so plan your meal accordingly.

Special Venues	We would ask attendees to only participate once in the IMAX, Planetarium, and Flight Simulator to allow everyone the opportunity to experience these unique activities.

8:30pm – 10:00pm	Shuttles will return to the Gaylord National Resort on a flow basis.

This is a new format for our National Convention Banquet and we are looking forward to a wonderful event.
